So, do you know Maskara? Do you know what its origin is? No? So check out this article because I will tell you everything about the origin of the Mask and a little more, come with me.

The Mask originally appeared in the comics in 1985 but was created by Mike Richardson in 1982 and in 1994 he won a movie called "The Mask” with none other than Jim Carrey in the role of Mask.

Content Index

Toggle

The Mask Film

The Origin of the Character the Mask

The Mask in the Comics

The Mask Film

Originally, the film's directors aimed to faithfully follow what was happening in the comics in the film, but they gave up after reaching the conclusion that there would be a lot of violence and that perhaps the public would not accept this film very well.

This leaves just the basic concept that if someone wears that Mask they will turn into an insane and reckless creature.

It is worth remembering that at the time the movie was produced, the Mask Comics were not so well known and famous. In a way, after the success of the film, the characters' comics came to gain fame as well.

The Origin of the Character the Mask

In all versions the Character has the same origin, someone arrives and has access to a magical mask that when using it automatically gains powers and becomes an inconsequential person, thus becoming "The Mask".

It is also worth mentioning that the appearance of those who wear this mask changes, their teeth grow and their face turns green. The character was inspired by a mixture of the other characters that previously appeared such as "The Joker" and "Crawler", and also the story "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”.

The Mask in the Comics

Stanley Ipkiss is a weak and neurotic man who decides to buy a gift for his girlfriend at an antique store. Do you know what he decided to buy? An old voodoo mask made of jade, she starts talking to him and tricks him into putting it on. When he puts on the artifact he transforms into a mad, inconsequential and green-headed man, in addition to a unique smile.

The Mask begins to realize the origin of his power after jumping out of a window and being hit by a car and having his head crushed, do you know what happened soon after? He regenerates and goes on committing crazy things as if nothing had happened.

He comes to the conclusion that it would be good to use his powers to transform himself into a "Superhero" but soon after he decides to take revenge on his enemies. It was after taking revenge on his enemies and enemies that Stanley Ipkiss manages to remove his mask and begins to realize what he did without the influence of that mask. Unfortunately, that artifact had already controlled him and he decides to make a list of more and more people for him to take revenge on.

Anyway, this was a brief summary about the Origin of the Mask and if you liked to know how it came about, don't forget to share this article with all your friends and on all your social networks.

Reading Suggestion: The Story of Spider-Man, Learn How It All Began!

Fala Geekers, Beleza?
