Futurama is scheduled to return next year on hulu<\/a>, with most of the original cast returning to their roles as Planet Express crew members. But this wouldn't be the first time the animated series that sprang from the mind of Matt Groening has made a big comeback. In 2013, the series gave us the second of its series finales in the meantime, with this following the initial series finale of \u201cThe Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings<\/a>\u201d on Fox. With another series finale clearly coming to an end, the show's return denies Meanwhile?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you don't know the backstory of Futurama's season two finale, meanwhile saw Fry and Leela existing in a moment in time, with time being frozen but the two main characters living the entirety of their lives during that moment. An important part of the series was Fry's love for Leela, which was explored in Meanwhile and Devil's Hands. But the last series finale saw Fry and Leela growing old with each other and nearly dying of old age in the frozen moment in time. In the final moments of the finale, they are saved by Professor Farnsworth, but with a twist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
