Goku's father, Bardock, not only mentioned a few times during the Granolah the Survivor arc, but also seen in battle! So with the fighter's involvement in the arc so far, it begs the question of whether or not Dragon Ball Super is gearing up for a full return to the Saiyan.
It's usually something you wouldn't even consider since Bardock's story apparently ended during the events of Dragon Ball Super: Broly. But with this new bow adding more wrinkles to his past and opening up his strength potential, it's almost possible.
So that's especially true with the newest installment in the series that finds Gas and Monaito thinking back to Gas' fight with Bardock! But, the series still needs to fill in the gaps and explain what exactly happened. After all, this mystery is compounded by the fact that Monaito was unconscious at the time. And with that, there's no way for Gas to open up about it, so it's leaving a potential place for Bardock to fully return to the series. That's only a matter if the manga decides to pull the trigger on such a crazy idea.
Return of Bardock in Dragon Ball Super!
The Granolah the Survivor bow! He himself has been filling in some past elements in relation to the Saiyans. After all, it is linked to the death of the Cereals and the orchestration of it all by the Heeters. These three races showed some important similarities to each other. Getting so distinct that the Saiyan past has become more important than ever.
With this arc starting from a small tie to Galactic Patrol Prisoner events before (thanks to the quickly discarded OG-73 connection), these little Saiyan ties to the past could be the thread the series picks up on with the next arc. This is something that a full Bardock return could come up with, but that is yet to be seen.
In the end, with all these issues that can also be resolved with a flashback from Gas' perspective. For eventually we get the full scope of how the fight took place. In a series like Dragon Ball, no character really stays dead unless there is no more real use for them in the story. After all, if even dead characters appear from time to time, and that's how we are with Bardock these days. Speaking of which, Frieza is still hanging around and a meeting with Bardock would be pretty crazy to see.
