The official website for Hajime Musashino's Burning Kabaddi (Shakunetsu Kabaddi) television anime announced on Monday that the anime will premiere on April 2 and will air on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, and AT-X. The site also revealed a new key visual.
The manga's story revolves around first-year high school student Tatsuya Yoigoshi, a former football player who doesn't like sports. He is invited to join a kabaddi contact sport team. He scoffs at the idea at first, but becomes interested after watching a kabaddi practice.

Yuuko Kakihara (Aikatsu! franchise, Digimon Adventure tri., Cells at Work!) is writing and supervising the scripts for the series, and Midori Gotou (Otogi Zoshi, Hozuki's Frieza) is also writing the scripts.
