Jim Carrey marked generations, performed the interpretation of characters that marked. He will always be remembered by several of them, he accomplished and still accomplishes joy of many. From children, teenagers and adults, you will hardly see anyone who doesn't like Jim Carrey.
And he has reasons for that, his characters played are true figures. Originality, form of interpretation, Carrey made a name for himself worldwide, and one of his most famous films is still remembered today more than 20 years after its debut. I'm talking about Ace Ventura! Who doesn't remember this movie icon, well if you're from the 90's and mid-2000's you certainly remember Ace Ventura.
A film that brought with it an originality not seen before, and where cinema was not something like today, but which will always remain in history. But, have you ever thought about being able to rewatch an Ace Ventura story bringing Jim Carrey back in? Well, I bet like me, you would love it too. Perhaps being a distant dream, but it may not be impossible, everything would depend on the conditions that appear for such a film to be reproduced. Carrey has already commented a little on when he mentioned the End of your career and retirement.
Jim Carrey and Ace Ventura!
Hollywood has long come with an obsession with revisiting iconic characters and films years later in an attempt to capitalize on nostalgia. What people seem really interested in isn't the franchise itself returning, it's the stars returning to a role they made famous!
We have example the upcoming Top Gun sequel with Tom Cruise returning to his role or the ongoing Cobra Kai TV show. Jim Carrey is no stranger to doing this, having returned to the role of Lloyd Christmas for Debi & Loide 2 and his part The Cable Guy (the one for a Super Bowl ad). But, do we have another more famous part, Ace Ventura? Carrey was even asked about a return to Ace Ventura – A Different Detective, and his response… might surprise you.
“I think after many years, unless some genius, director, author comes to you with a completely new view of what's going on, you know. If Chris Nolan came up to me and said 'I want to make Ace Ventura real and I want to do something, you know, something more interesting…' then I might hear it. But for the most part, you know, after a while, there's not a cell in your body that's that person anymore, so you end up imitating what you used to do and the original inspiration is no longer there.”
The movie Carrey played the most in theaters
Prior to the sequel to Dumb and Dumber and the Sonic 2 movies, Ace Ventura was the only character Jim Carrey played more than once on the big screen. For those who weren't around, it was an immense and monstrous success. Back then, with its sequel surpassing expectations as well, becoming the highest-grossing film of 1995's retirement. An immense feat for the time, to see how iconic the film itself was, a true success, which generated a lot of capital, and of course, the main thing, a lot of laughter for the public.
“We will, I'm retiring… Probably. I'm pretty serious, yeah," Carrey admitted to Access Hollywood last week. “Depending on whether the angels bring some kind of script in gold ink that's really important for people to see. I can continue on the road, but I'm still taking a break. I really enjoy my currently quiet life, and I really love putting ink on canvas. I love my spiritual life and I feel like… and this is something you'll never hear another celebrity say as long as there's time: 'I have enough. I've done enough. I am enough.'”
Currently if you want to see Jim Carrey Acting in a recent new movie, know that you can now watch his new movie on movie theaters. Where he plays Dr. Robotnik in Sonic 2.
