Monster Hunter Trailer
But you might be wondering why put two “equal” trailers, well exactly why they are not the same! It turns out that in the Brazilian version of the trailer (unfortunately not dubbed, only subtitled) some scenes are different. Which makes it interesting to watch both, to get a better idea of what to expect from the film.
What to Expect from Adaptation
Monster Hunter is a live-action adaptation of the series of games that began on Capcom's Playstation 2 franchise that already owns 15 years of tradition! The main actress Milla Jovovich I believe everyone remembers his face well from the Resident Evil franchise in theaters, but that's not the only similarity between this adaptation and Resident. In addition to the protagonist, and the fact that they are live-action franchises based on Capcom games, the director of the film will also be the same.
That's right, the director of the Monster Hunter Movie is Paul WS Anderson, who also directed the Resident Evil movie adaptations. Which may already leave some fans of the franchise on the back foot, but with good reason. After all, his previous work that serves as a reference for the current work already demonstrates that even though it is a game adaptation, it does not follow the original work very closely. And what is also noticeable in the trailer.
Although it may leave some with their foot behind, at least the quality presented in the trailer is undeniable! And just as Resident Evil shared the opinion of game fans in relation to the movies, the same can happen with the Monster Hunter movie. But for those who have never heard of it, or who haven't played the games, it can be an excellent movie, after all who doesn't like movies with monsters / giant robots like circle of fire or Godzilla?
Anyway, what did you think of this trailer, and what do you expect from the Monster Hunter movie? Do you think that even if it is just a VERY partial adaptation, it has everything to work out, or that it would be much better to simply have taken advantage of the rich history told in the games and take a more faithful adaptation to the cinemas?
