Monkey D. Luffy
Without much ado, now we're going to talk about who was the first member of Luffy's crew, which obviously was himself. Monkey D. Luffy is the founder and captain of the Straw Hat crew, who are becoming more famous and more powerful with each passing day.
He founded this band with a single goal, which is to become the King of Pirates, thus finding a legendary treasure known as one piece. And whoever left behind or hid this treasure was none other than Gol D. Roger, who is now deceased and for a long time was known worldwide as the greatest pirate of all time.
Luffy believes that becoming the Pirate King means having the greatest freedom in the world, hence his intense search for the legendary treasure. Remembering that even as a child he ate one Devil Fruit, which is the Rubber Fruit, thus gaining the power to stretch.
Roronoa Zoro
Now we will talk about the first crew member of the Straw Hat crew who decided to join Luffy's crew. And I'm talking about Roronoa Zoro, who ironically was a pirate hunter and ended up becoming one of the most wanted pirates in the world.
In the group he has the following role, Swordsman and second in command, and unlike Luffy, he has never eaten any Devil Fruits. He is also a master of Santoryu, a style of swordsmanship he created on his own in his training as a child.
Like Luffy, Zoro entered the tribulation to go in search of his biggest dream, to become the greatest swordsman in the world.
Nami – Luffy's Third Crew Member
Nami, like Luffy and Zoro, joined this group to make her biggest dream come true, do you know what it is? Make a map of the whole world, apparently everyone who joined this crew left in search of fulfilling their biggest dreams.
And yet, Nami's role in the crew is to be the cartographer, and she also has another role, which is treasurer. And at first she joined this gang with the aim of robbing them, after all, her nickname is "The Cat Ladra".
She wanted to steal them so she could pay off a debt to Arlong so she could go back to her home village. But the Straw Hats rebelled against Arlong, defeated him and Nami joined the tram in pursuit of her biggest dream.
Usopp
The fourth person to join Luffy's crew was Usopp, who is a tremendous coward and a big liar. However, he has a good heart, and despite his great cowardice and fear, he joined the gang and has the function of being a sniper.
He joined the Straw Hats to go in search of a great wish of his, do you know what it is? Become a great and fearless pirate of the seas, and that's in your blood, because your father is also a great pirate.
Sanji
The fifth member of this band of fearless pirates is Sanji, who is nothing less than a great cook. And Sanji is a prince from the Kingdom of Germa, who in turn disowned his family twice. He disowned his family the first time as a child, the second time as an adult.
As a child he ran away from home and ended up in Zeff's care as the chef of the Baratie, which is a restaurant ship. And it was when he entered Baratie that he learned his culinary skills and became a great cook.
Luffy's crew eventually found out about this restaurant and convinced Sanji to join the pack.
Tony Tony Chopper
Like Luffy, Chopper also ate a Devil Fruit, which was the Hito Hito no Mi, which is the Human-Human Fruit. That is, he is an animal that by eating this fruit, ended up gaining the ability to act like a human.
Chopper, who is a reindeer with human abilities, has the role of being a doctor on the trolley, and he performs this role very well. The goal of joining Luffy's crew is to one day become a doctor capable of curing any type of illness.
Nico Robin – Seventh Member of Luffy's Crew
It's not just Luffy and Chooper who are part of this crew and ate an Aluma no Mi, Nico Robin too. The Fruit she ate was the Hana Hana no Mi, which is the Fruit of the Flower. Nico Robin has the power to reproduce body parts (or the entire body) on any surface at will.
She is the only person who survived the destruction of West Blue Ohara Island. And that makes Nico currently the only person in the world known to have the ability to read and decipher Poneglyphs. This is an ability that is considered forbidden and threatening to the World Government.
franky
As Luffy's crew is always fighting battles at sea, it would take a carpenter to always be restoring the ship. And that carpenter is Franky, who joined the crew on Saga Water 7.
His birth name is "Cutty Flam", but to hide his origins, he decided to adopt and later assume the nickname Franky as his name. Franky was abandoned by his family when he was just four years old, eventually making his way to Water 7.
At one point in his life he had an incident that damaged his body, causing him to turn into a cyborg.
brook
Brook was the ninth member of the crew, his role on the tram is to be a musician and one of the two swordsmen, the other is Zoro. He ate the Devil Fruit called the Yomi Yomi no Mi (Revive-Revive Fruit), which allows him to revive after once after death.
Over time he learns to tap into his powers more deeply, learning to have nominal control over his own soul. In fact not just your own souls, but the souls of others as well.
Jinbei
The last person so far who joined Luffy's crew was Jinbe, whose job is to be the Helmsman. Jinbe is a whale shark fishman and a mighty master of Fishman Karate, yet before and in the midst of the War he befriended Monkey D. Luffy, and two years later he made an alliance with the Hats of Straw to prevent the New Fish-Man Pirates' coup against the Neptune Royal Family of the Ryugu Kingdom.
Luffy later invited him to join the crew, but Jinbe held him back until he broke ties with Big Mom during the Whole Cake Island Arc.
