The Mask Film
Originally, the film's directors aimed to faithfully follow what was happening in the comics in the film, but they gave up after reaching the conclusion that there would be a lot of violence and that perhaps the public would not accept this film very well.

The Mask in the Comics
Stanley Ipkiss is a weak and neurotic man who decides to buy a gift for his girlfriend at an antique store. Do you know what he decided to buy? An old voodoo mask made of jade, she starts talking to him and tricks him into putting it on. When he puts on the artifact he transforms into a mad, inconsequential and green-headed man, in addition to a unique smile.
The Mask begins to realize the origin of his power after jumping out of a window and being hit by a car and having his head crushed, do you know what happened soon after? He regenerates and goes on committing crazy things as if nothing had happened.
He comes to the conclusion that it would be good to use his powers to transform himself into a "Superhero" but soon after he decides to take revenge on his enemies. It was after taking revenge on his enemies and enemies that Stanley Ipkiss manages to remove his mask and begins to realize what he did without the influence of that mask. Unfortunately, that artifact had already controlled him and he decides to make a list of more and more people for him to take revenge on.
