The game literally came out yesterday (12/10/2020) and there is no talk of another subject, after all it is understandable, it was years and years of waiting. Cyberpunk 2077 was a tremendous success right after its announcement due to the incredible theme proposed by the game. And yes, the game has a wide variety of options so we can enjoy everything in the best way. From being the good guys, the outcasts and even wanderers.
But a big doubt of the public, it is about the online mode of the game, that is, it is about a multiplayer. But a specific detail comes into this issue and we'll have to wait a little while to be able to enjoy the game with that DUO.
Cyberpunk 2077 and Multiplayer.
When it comes to the multiplayer game Cyberpunk 2077 should not be seen as a game mode, but a product "independent" of the game. Something that is very reminiscent of the DLC of several games, which brings additional content, or for the most part, a 'new' game.
During a conference which was held last Wednesday (25). Adam Kicinski, executive director of CD Projekt Red, revealed that the developer thinks of multiplayer as a separate product.
“We don't call [the multiplayer] a mode. It is a self-dedicated production, a great production. And we think of it as a standalone product. Obviously, it's not completely standalone, as it belongs to the Cyberpunk universe and is related to the single player concept of the game I created. But from our perspective, it's an independent production with an independent team working on it,” said Kicinski.
So, apparently, don't expect an online game mode in the current game, after all, as you can see above, the intention is for a 'new' game. Besides, it's quite plausible to think like that, because the game is already quite big! There are more than 100GB of game data, especially because the map is huge. And aesthetically speaking, Cyberpunk 2077 mixes the Western and the Eastern, with Japan being a crucial part of the plot and architecture. It's exactly the kind of cultural fusion we were hoping to find in a game of this genre.
