THE crunchyroll and adult swim revealed the main cast, staff, trailer, artwork, and summer release of the new anime "Crunchyroll Originals". Fena: Pirate Princess. Additionally, the Crunchyroll and Adult Swim co-production will air with an English dub on Adult Swim's Toonami block. It will also be simulcast in Japanese with English subtitles on Crunchyroll this summer.
Fena: Pirate Princess is currently streaming to 202. Participant of the Annecy International Animated Film Festival. The series was selected as a Work in Progress series with a panel featuring director Kazuto Nakazawa and producer Rui Kuroki from Production IG.
Crunchyroll describes the series: Fena: Pirate Princess is a 12-episode original anime series that tells the story of a young orphan girl, Fena Houtman. Fena was created on an island where there is no hope of becoming anything more than an asset, to be used and discarded by soldiers of the British Empire. But Fena is more than just another helpless orphan.

Production IG producer Rui Kuroki announced at the Production IG USA Panel at Anime Expo Lite in July 2020. Additionally, Production IG is working on an anime series in collaboration with Adult Swim. Kuroki stated that the work is "something Production IG has never done before".

Then, Crunchyroll announced the “Crunchyroll Originals” line in 2015 with Hiroyuki Takahashi's HYPERSONIC music club webcomic as the first installment. Crunchyroll serialized the webcomic PARK Harajuku: Crisis Team! Cujo inspired the anime Urahara.
