Hellsing is getting a live-action adaptation produced by Amazon Prime, with a screenwriter from John Wick!
The Hellsing Manga will win a Live Action adaptation produced by Amazon Studios, an Amazon Prime Studio dedicated to the production of original series and films for the platform. But as if the news of a Hellsing resurgence wasn't good enough... Deadline, who broke the news, even claimed that John Wick screenwriter (Derek Kolstad) will pen the script for Live Action.
According to the portal, it is a dream Derek produces something related to Hellsing. Since the manga was introduced to him by his brother. Check out his statement:
Ever since my brother introduced me to the Hellsing manga and anime a few years ago, I've been obsessed with adapting it. And when [producer] Mike Callaghan and his team were able to secure the rights and then put us in touch with Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Amazon, I mean… Holy shit, man…. this is a dream
What to expect from Live Action
In fact, when announcing a Live Action, the first thing that comes after the initial excitement with the news is concern. After all, will it be good? Even more so with Live Action in general being unsatisfactory, such as Dragon Ball, Avatar the last Airbender, etc.
However, this one seems to be very promising, which means that at least the fans are not disappointed. Just connecting the dots, anyone who has read the manga and/or watched the anime can really expect a good adaptation full of action, and blood everywhere. Even because this is the strength of John Wick, and if Amazon gives freedom for a production along the lines of The Boys… you can be sure it will be Epic!
But let's save some of the excitement until more details are revealed about the work, cast, director, ratings, etc. Live Action does not yet have an estimated date.

About Hellsing
The Hellsing Manga began to be written in 1997 in the magazine Young King Ours and came to an end in 2008, won an anime adaptation in 2001 with 13 episodes, but which has some differences from the manga. But years after the end of the first anime adaptation, a series of OVA's was released with the name of Hellsing Ultimate, which has no connection with the first anime, but rather adapts more faithfully the manga, in the same way that happened with Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.
Hellsing is a retelling of the classic Dracula tale, uniting Japanese elements and Victorian England. In this reality the Vampires exist, and it is the duty of the Hellsing an organization sponsored by the British government both to hide this fact from the populace, and to deal with it, exterminating the Vampires. Hellsing's main weapon is Alucard, an extremely powerful vampire, which is controlled by the organization. That although he doesn't enjoy serving the organization, he enjoys his job as a Terminator.
In Brazil, Hellsing's manga was published by JBC, while the anime was broadcast on the extinct Animax with Portuguese dubbing. Which without a doubt contributed to the popularity of anime here in Brazil.
