Blue Origin, which is a space company owned by the richest man in the world, I'm talking about Jeff Bezos, just took him into space. With that, we are more and more sure that a new space race has begun, only this time it is for tourism.
Yes, by all indications, tourism trips to space will be a pretty frequent thing in the next few decades or even before. And one of the companies that promises to be one of the pioneers in this segment of space travel is Blue Origin, which belongs to Jeff Bezos.
But anyone who thinks Jeff Bezos was the first billionaire to go to space is wrong, because in fact he was the second. The first billionaire to go into space was the Richard Branson, owner of Virgin Galactic went to space on the 11th.
Now we just have to wait and find out which will officially be the first space company to actually start taking “ordinary” people into space.
Who went into space with Jeff Bezos?
In total Jeff Bezos' tribulation had four people who went for a little ride off the earth, that including the billionaire. In addition to the billionaire, his brother, Mark Bezos, the young Oliver Daeme and the veteran aviator Wally Funk.
This tribulation also broke records and they were the next, the youngest and oldest person in the world to go into space. Oliver Daeme is only 18 years old, while Wally Funk is 82 years old, probably this record breaking was planned by Blue Origin.
And yet, another detail that we cannot fail to mention about this flight is that it took place without a pilot on the ship.

The Flight Was a Success!
This first flight into space by Jeff Bezos and led by his space company, Blue Origin, was a tremendous success. And yet, the success of this flight was confirmed only when they reached the Kármán Line, do you know what the altitude of this line is? About 100km above sea level, remembering that the maximum height reached on this flight was about 107.05km.
Remembering that Blue Origin has not yet informed when it intends to start its space flights, but they will still do more testing this year 2021.
Virgin Galactic, on the other hand, seems to be a little further ahead in this regard and intends to start offering space flights as early as next year. Believe it or not, the company has already sold around 600 tickets for civilian space travel.
And yet, two of those 600 tickets were bought by Elon Musk (Owner of SpaceX) and Wally Funk (Who was on the flight with Jeff Bezos). It is worth remembering that SpaceX is another space company that should soon start sending people into space as well.
