Showtime releases a new trailer for Dexter: New Blood giving audiences a look at what's to come! So much for Michael C. Hall's titular killer in the revival. Developed by former Dexter showrunner Clyde Phillips and based on Jeff Lindsay's novels centered on the character. The limited series picks up 10 years after the events of the divisive series finale in which the titular character faked his death!
And now he's living under an alias in a small New York town, suppressing his serial killer urges. However, with the arrival of his son and a series of incidents involving a new serial killer around town, Dexter fears that the "Dark Passenger" within him will return again.
Michael C. Hall returns to lead the cast of Dexter: New Blood alongside veterinarian Jennifer Carpenter and newcomers Julia Jones, Johnny Sequoyah, Alano Miller, Clancy Brown and Jamie Chung. The series will also feature fans returning to their favorite antagonist, The Trinity Killer, played by John Lithgow in a special appearance. As Dexter: New Blood gets underway, Showtime is ready to share more information about what audiences can expect from the rest of the season.

The latest trailer for Dexter: New Blood certainly packs a lot of exciting teases of what's to come for fans of the series. Between maintaining the original series' dark sense of humor and a tortuous dynamic between its Dexter and his son, there's sure to be plenty of compelling character work in the revival.
While the video apparently points to Hall's titular killer reverting to his old ways, it looks like he's going to struggle to do so in an effort to build and maintain a relationship with his son.
Also, it's interesting to note that the trailer for Dexter: New Blood features some indications of the show continuing past the current chapter. With the title of the video labeling it "Season 1" and the video itself describing "This season" instead of simply "Coming" or something similar, the series' marketing may be trying to leave the door open in the audience's mind for the season. show to live for should the revival be a success for the showtime. In the meantime, audiences can watch new episodes of Dexter: New Blood that airs on Showtime on Sunday nights.
