It is very common to see people on social media asking for the privatization of the post office for the government, well, not just this company. And there are also those people who are against it, because I preferred it to stay the way it is and not see reasons for changes.
However, we cannot deny that deliveries made by the Post Office sometimes or almost always leave a little to be desired in terms of speed. Not to mention when we buy something outside of Brazil, when it arrives at customs, depending on the order, it takes months to release.

Government Wants Privatization of Post Office 100%
Alleging weak competitiveness, the Ministry of Economy intends to sell all the assets and liabilities of Correios, and apparently, to a single company. And precisely because it sells to a single company, many people fear that a kind of monopoly will happen and we would only depend on a delivery service.
And yet, the “best” way out might be to slice up the post office and sell to different companies, in order to have a free market. But it is worth remembering that we already have several delivery services in Brazil, such as Mercado Livre, Amazon, Fedex and etc…
When Should the Postal Sale Take Place?
By all indications, the privatization of the postal service led by the government should take place in March 2022, that is, almost a year from now. And as I said before, the plan so far is to sell the state-owned company to a single buyer and in a traditional auction.
And the vote for this auction scheduled for 2022 is close to happening, as it should be voted on by deputies as early as next week. This vote must take place before the recess in the Chamber of Deputies begins, because the government has been putting pressure on this privatization of the postal service.
An addition worth mentioning here is that last year the company managed to close the year in the green, that is, it made a profit. But years ago it was closing in the red and despite this profit, it still did not recover from the loss it had been having.
Is this privatization really a good thing?
Well, we know that some say it will be a good one and others already say that it is not, but we will know this answer only with time. However, we know very well that it was high time for something to be done with this large state-owned company.
To give you an idea, I once bought a cell phone in Ali Express, after leaving China, arrived here in Brazil with about 7 days. Until then normal, but it was stopped at customs for more than a month and I was still taxed.
Anyway, it arrived in my hand almost three months after I bought it.
