3: The History of the Company Logo – Amazon Trivia

I don't know if you know, but the name “Amazon” is a tribute by Jeff Bezos to the Amazon River, so, did you know that one? And the company's first logo carried an explicit reference to the origin of the brand's name, do you know what that logo was like?
The art featured a capital letter “A”, which was cut by an abstract drawing of a river, I thought it was a great idea. However, over the years the company changed its brand logo and in 2000 chose to use the one we know.
The current logo brings the name “amazon” with an orange curved arrow, the arrow starts at the A and goes to the letter Z. The logo with this curved arrow alludes to a smile, because according to the agency that created the brand, they are happy to deliver anything and anywhere.
2: 49 Minutes and a Millionaire Loss

In July 2013, the company faced a technical problem that left Amazon down for exactly 49 minutes. However, despite not having been down for even an hour, those 49 minutes generated a millionaire loss for the company.
This quick failure cost the store a loss of “only” US$ 5.7 million (R$ 21.3 million, in direct conversion). If almost 9 years ago the company had this loss staying for less than an hour on the air, imagine if that happened today?
And this fact served to make it more than clear that the saying “time is money” makes perfect sense.
1: Amazon would be called Cadabra

I'm going to end this list with 3 amazing facts about Amazon, saying one that may seem crazy, but it's true. Amazon was going to be called Cadabra, and Jeff Bezos thought of this name alluding to the term “Abracadabra”, believe it.
But for some reason he didn't follow through with this idea, and do you know what made Bezos not follow through with this name idea? The businessman and owner of Amazon was convinced by the lawyer he had at the time, with the argument that Cadabra's sound resembles "corpse".
And that similarity of sound might not go down too well for the company, so Jeff Bezos changed his mind. After giving up Cadabra, the entrepreneur also thought about naming the company “Relentless”, but gave up and ended up opting for Amazon. Another detail is that if the person types relentless.com in the browser, it will land on the company's official website.
