The highly acclaimed Death Note manga series written by Tsugumi Ohba and with illustration of Takeshi Obata had its publication started in 2003 and ended in 2006 by the magazine Weekly Shonen. It will receive this February a spin-off written by the author Tsugumi himself.
The story will take place after the end of the original story, which we can consider a direct continuation. On the other hand, it may not have a connection with it, only references after all it is a spin off (derived story). Bringing the Death Note and Ryuk back to the human world. Death Note is a notebook belonging to the Shinigami (Reaper/Gods of death, in Japanese culture). That they have the power to kill anyone who has their name written on it, and the form of doing so can even be described. One of these Shinigami tired of his boring life drops one of his notebooks into the human world.
Found by the protagonist Light Yagami, an exemplary high school student. Light uses the Death Note to create a new world in which he considers better alongside Ryuk (whoever touches the pages of the notebook can see the shinigamis). The plot involves the clash between Light and the best detective in the world L, who investigates to find out who is responsible for the wave of murders using the pseudonym Kira.

The Mangá won an anime adaptation produced by the Madhouse studio with the direction of Tetsuro Araki (already directed great works among them 1 season of Shingeki). Airing took place between October 3, 2006 and June 26, 2007, and ran for 37 episodes.
In Brazil, the Death Note anime was dubbed by Cinevideo and can be easily watched on Netflix. And the manga was distributed by JBC Publishing.
Death Note also received live-action films. One of them being produced by Netflix itself on August 25, 2017, which didn't please fans at all. It is a trilogy produced by Nippon Television and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
