Dragon Ball Super has fully released Vegeta's new form, Ultra Ego! However, this surprisingly makes him more like Goku in some very interesting ways. The newest chapter in the manga series delivered on the promise of the previous cliffhanger and saw Vegeta fully unleash a new form!
Which he himself had created after his training on Yardrat and with Beerus. He dubbed this new form "Ultra Ego", and while it already shares some obvious similarities with Goku's own godly form, Ultra Instinct. Vegeta's fight with Granolah began to show some surprising similarities.
While Ultra Ego's power seemed perfect for Vegeta (which made sense, as he literally tailor-made it for himself) as it grew in strength the more he wanted to fight, it also started to make him act more like Goku in one fell swoop. surprising way.
Just like Goku always tries to suppress his opponents and find the hidden good side of each of his enemies. Vegeta seems to be doing his best to break Granolah's hatred and convince him that they are not enemies.
Vegeta's Ultra Ego in Dragon Ball Super
Chapter 75 of the series begins with Vegeta's usual surge of confidence. Where he gains an advantage over an enemy as he starts to beat Granolah. But the interesting twist here is that he's actually coming from a place of kindness rather than pure aggression. He calls this initial defeat "tough love". Also, it feels like an extension of the lessons he learned from Beerus about forgiving himself for his past transgressions and moving beyond his past.
Beerus notably made a point of teaching him how to focus his thoughts solely on destruction! But it's more of a teaching to focus on what's important to him at the moment. Through this new sense of self that Vegeta is discovering. It looks like he's mentally in a good enough place that some of that Goku part of him is starting to show as well. He's trying to tell Granolah that he's wrong about the Saiyans, and he's trying to stop Granolah from doing more unnecessary damage.
It's like he's deliberately holding back (even warning Granolah about a massive Hakai blast before releasing it) and trying other options before the violence itself. It does so much literal damage to itself, but this is going to be a curious thing to keep an eye on as the series goes on.
