The first season of Megalo Box premiered in 2018, with a total of 13 episodes. But with no sign of a direct continuation as with some animes, for example Nanatsu no Taizai that since its release, subsequent seasons were announced shortly thereafter.
The announcement of the Megalo Box sequel was only made in November 2019, and here we are more than 1 year after the announcement and it's finally coming! According to TMS Entertainment, which announced during the Anime NYC in New York in November 2019, the second season of Megalo box was in development, and it would arrive either at the end of 2020, or beginning of 2021. The end of 2020 has passed, and nothing from the anime, but maybe because of the pandemic didn't make it at first...

In the description of the video we can see some details about the season, and what draws the most attention besides the information about Staff, etc., is its premiere forecast, for April 2021, the Spring Season!
With the information already available regarding the second season, it is confirmed by the studio that the second season will take place 7 years after the events of the first. However, details about the plot are only present in the Trailer.

Megalo Box is created as a celebration of 50 years of Ashita no Joe a manga about boxing Ikki Kajiwara and Tetsuya Chiba. TMS studio is also the studio that animated Ashita's classic anime in 1980!
The story of Megalo Box follows Junk Dog a Megaloboxer who participates in clandestine fights to gain fame and find out if he is really happy with his conditions. But one day JD meets the greatest champion of the sport, where a rivalry is born. And this rivalry is what will motivate JD to fight harder and be able to win the World Tournament!
