Without a doubt, animations will appeal to everyone, not just children since it has been its main target audience. However, over the years, animations have emerged that target audiences in addition to children, adolescents and adults. A great example of this is South Park, The Simpsons… cartoons that are definitely not for children!
The list of the 5 most watched animations in 2020 was made by the NPD Group, which researches statistics related to viewers, it created the list of the 10 most watched animations on Netflix throughout the year 2020 among the children's audience, check out which they are:

5 – PJ Masks

If there's a genre that's on the rise today, it's without a doubt that of Heroes, and with children it couldn't be different; The fifth most watched Animation in 2020 among children is PJ Masks or Heroes de Pajama in Portuguese. PJ Masks is a British-French cartoon created by Entertainment One in partnership with several studios, including Disney Junior! Although it is a British and French production, its origin is in a French work called Les Pajamasques.
Pj Masks follows three children who during the day are ordinary children, three friends and classmates, but who at night transform into PJ Masks. They fight crime at night and while fighting the villains learn several valuable life lessons.
4 – Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug

Following the same premise as PJ Masks, which indicates the great interest of the intanfil public in works of the genre, but mainly of the French public in specific. Also a French work, created by Thomas Astruc, The Adventures of Ladybug follows two teenagers who transform into Ladybug and Cat Noir in order to protect the city of Paris from super villains.
3 – Naruto

Although the focus of the research was exactly to move away from anime, giving a greater focus to animations, Naruto still managed to appear on the list. An impressive feat, especially considering the age of the anime (O Classico), it comes as its most serious and violent take. But perhaps that's exactly why it appears among the 3 most watched animations of 2020.
While previous works were focused on a more children's audience, Naruto manages to captivate children of an older age, close to adolescence, who are no longer interested in very childish productions. Another reason why Naruto appears is the fact that it's not just children who watch it, practically everyone in the public has watched or watches Naruto!
2 – The Boss Baby: Back in Business

As with several animated films, such as The Penguins of Madagascar, How to Train Your Dragon… Animations that are quite successful get an animated series, which happened with The Boss Baby! The series is a Spin-off of the DreamWorks film and accompanies Boss Baby along with his older brother as they explore BabyCorp.
1 - Avatar: The Last Airbender

The enormous success of Avatar: The Last Airbender is undeniable, and its presence as the Most Watched Animation of all of 2020 is further proof of this. Being an animation with no age restrictions, but with a very well told and somewhat innovative story, The Legend of Aang manages to capture all audiences, just like Naruto, from children to adults!
The success of the work was able to transcend the barrier of animation, taking the universe of Avatar to other media, including games, and an adaptation in theaters, although this adaptation is better forgotten... But it will gain a new opportunity for redemption in the world from live-action, with a series being produced by Netflix. Let's hope that finally this universe is well represented on screen.
