The year 2020 is over, but some things that were very common during the past year are still very present. Among them, we have how much the pandemic affected the entertainment market, including the cinema. With theaters closed all over the world to avoid crowds, filming of movies halted for the safety of the crew and actors... All of this drastically influenced the calendars of large production companies.
A great example is the Black Widow film, which was already ready, but has not yet been released due to cinemas being closed.
But new year, everything new isn't it? With vaccines coming etc, however some things still hold up, and it's too early to say that everything is normal…. Because this Thursday (21) Sony changed its film calendar for the year 2021, even remembering that it has the presence of films that were supposed to be released since last year in theaters, but that have suffered postponements, and now again.
Modifications to the Sony Movie Calendar
- Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway – According to the new date set by Sony, Peter Rabbit will hit theaters on June 11, 2021! Previous date was February 11, 2021.
- Cinderella Project – Released on July 16, 2021, previously it was February 4, 2021.
- 007: No Time to Die – The last film in the 007 franchise in which Daniel Craig will play the actor who will live the secret agent in theaters. Its new release date is October 8, 2021, previously it was April 2020, but it has been pushed back to November (2020), and here we are with yet another postponement.
- Ghostbusters: Beyond – According to the new calendar, the newest Ghostbusters movie comes out on November 11, 2021, it was March 4, 2021.
- furniture - One of Sony's most anticipated features for this year, now only next year, that's right only in 2021. Morbius arrives on January 21, 2022, it was March 18, 2021.
- uncharted – The film adaptation of the Uncharted games with Tom Holland has also undergone changes. One of Sony's most troubled films, almost cancelled, postponed... Now it only arrives on February 11, 2022, before it was July 15, 2021.
And these are the films that had their release date modified after changes made by Sony to its release schedule. Several other films from the production company will be released in this period of time, which may or may not undergo changes, such as Hotel Transylvania 4 scheduled for August 5, 2021.
