Demon Slayer movie hits North American theaters on April 23, with a digital release.

It's closer than ever! We will finally have the Demon Slayer movie (Kimetsu no Yaiba) in the west so we can continue the story. Also, in case you didn't know, the new Demon Slayer movie is the direct continuation of the manga! That is, continuity in the arc of the infinite train.

THE Aniplex of America and funimation announced on Tuesday that the Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train anime will open in US and Canadian theaters on April 23, including in 4DX and on IMAX screens. The film will air in Japanese with English subtitles, as well as English dubs. Tickets will go on sale from April 9 on Funimaton's website.

The film will go on sale digitally on June 22 on Apple TV, Microsoft Store, Vudu, Google Play, PlayStation Store and Amazon. Pre-orders will begin April 26 on Apple TV, Microsoft Store and PlayStation Store.

Additionally, Aniplex of America began streaming trailers for the subtitled and dubbed versions.

Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train opened in Japan on October 16. The film had the biggest worldwide opening for the weekend of October 16–18. Furthermore, it sold 3,424,930 tickets and earned 4,623,117,450 yen (about US $ 43.85 million) in Japan in its first three days. What's more, it sold 910,507 tickets and grossed over 1,268,724,700 yen (about US $ 12.03 million) on its opening day alone, making it Japan's biggest opening day week ever.

The film sold a total of 28 million tickets and grossed 38.6 billion yen (US $ 353.9 million) in Japan as of Sunday. Additionally, the film even surpassed Hayao Miyazaki's 2002 film Spirited Away, its latest rival.
