Somehow, Skyrim is now 10 years old, and Bethesda Game Studios is celebrating the occasion with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition. The title is set to drop tomorrow and a new trailer showcases some of the improvements players can expect to find, including new gear and magic, a fishing minigame, and more.
Additionally, the trailer has a suitably epic feel and celebrates the accolades that Skyrim has garnered from various vehicles over the past decade. The title is undoubtedly one of the most beloved in all games, and for those who haven't tried it yet, this seems to be the definitive version! The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and the Anniversary Edition!
The Anniversary Edition of Skyrim drew some sneers from fans following its announcement in August. Not because of the content or the existence of the Anniversary Edition itself, but simply because many knew they didn't have the necessary restriction to avoid purchasing the game at another time! Skyrim has had a plethora of platform offerings over the years, and in many forms, so fans who already own the game are clearly fearing for the safety of their wallets. We'll see how many of those same fans reluctantly buy the game tomorrow, of course.
Fortunately, for those who don't want to buy the game again, tomorrow we'll also see free updates to existing versions of Skyrim, including a next-gen update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. Of course, with The Elder Scrolls VI probably still some time off, all this new content for Skyrim will have to shake fans up in the meantime! At the very least, the next-gen update should give Xbox Series X owners | Just an idea of what the future holds for the series.
