It's really hard for fans to get to watch Venom: Time for Carnage! The Long had its release postponed again. Check out why this postponement, and the new release date, not only for Venom 2, but also for other films from Sony debuting this year.
Why was Venom: Time of Carnage delayed?
This isn't the first time Venom has had its movie release affected. Although it is for the same reason as the previous one, it is caused by slightly different reasons. That's right, the film had its release impacted by the Pandemic.
While for the first time it was affected because of the outbreak of the pandemic, affecting movie theaters, productions… But this time the problem is another, related to what would solve the first problem.
In the United States, people are refusing to get the vaccine. And with the emergence of new variants of the virus, even more aggressive and contagious. Sony chose to again delay the film in theaters. In addition to being a way to fight agglomerations, but not just that! After all, Sony has been seeing box office sales in American theaters going much lower than desired, which greatly affects the movie's release forecast.
What is the new date?
Venom 2 was scheduled to hit theaters on September 24th, but now the movie will take 3 weeks longer to arrive on October 14th. However, as stated in the intro Venom is not the only Sony movie that will see release date changes. Check out the changes to the Sony 2021 movie release date below:

As Sony does not intend to compete with itself at the box office, therefore, when changing the release date of a movie, it makes it change all the others so that no two movies come out in the same week. This causes a ripple effect.
