Nickelodeon announced that the Avatar Franchise will be expanded, the universe that until then has The Legend of Aang and The Legend of Korra will get new drawings and Movie! Understand.
The Avatar universe is one of the most beloved not only by children but also by teenagers and adults... Whether by people who watched it during their childhood or who actually got to know it in their adult age. A great proof of its success is the fact that Avatar and the Last Airbender is the most watched animation on all of Netflix during the year 2020, and with The Legend of Korra not being far behind, even for being a continuation. of the Legend of Aang.
Although the animation has two seasons that follow two generations of Avatars, this universe is not over yet! According to deadline new franchise works are on the way. And I'm not referring to the Netflix series! Or some more live-action, but original and unpublished content!
Avatar movie and new animations
Remember The Last Airbender, no need to worry! According to Deadline, Paramount has announced the creation of a studio 100% dedicated to the Avatar universe, the Avatar Studios. The aim of this studio is to expand the rich universe of Avatar, and the first work will begin production later this year. It is an animated film, which is already in development, however only this information about the film has been revealed, nothing about dates, return of original voices, or anything about the plot.
Why not worry about quality? Even if it doesn't have the quality of Avatar the Legend of Aang, considered by many to be the best to date, it's inevitable that this expanded universe has a minimum of quality. After all, the Studio will be run by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko who were the creators of the original story.
This new studio dedicated to the Avatar universe will produce content for Paramount+, Nickelodeon and platforms that may be interested in their projects. Content for the theaters is also in the plans, so maybe this new animated movie will go straight to the big screen.
Netflix series
While the series that Netflix is producing remains. No changes, no cancellations… the project is proceeding according to plan. Although now without the participation of the creators of the work in its production. They left the project due to creative differences... which left many fans worried about what might come next... After all, no one forgot the trauma with Death Note, and the changes that Netflix adaptations usually have.
